The same phenomenon affected WoW’s main rival, Guild Wars, which was also less crowded. Still, it seems that the latter’s fans are more loyal, with a drop of only 13%.
The champion of desertions seems to be Silkroad Online, with a 27% drop.
In the shooter department the situation is rather similar. The Call of Duty 2 Multiplayer front saw 12% less action than during the previous month, while the rival sides in Counter-Strike decided to solve their ever lasting conflict in a battle of coffee and doughnuts (down 18%).
Xbox fans are sure to claim that Halo 3 had something to do with the plummeting numbers. Then again, it far more safer to assume that players left the virtual world because they had to go back to real-life school, also known as educational PvP grounds.
