The ESA has been working hard to convince the industry that this year’s E3 will return to its former size and glory but it seems that it has failed as far as Blizzard is concerned. While the Activision half of the company has accepted the invitation, the Diablo-maker has a different take on the situation:

“Blizzard Entertainment will not be attending or participating in E3 2009”, a company representative told Giantbomb

A tough blow for the ESA, although not so hard to foresee. Blizzard has its own BlizzCon event to prepare and it’s not hard to imagine that all the really interesting content will be unveiled over there.

Thus, it would make no sense to just throw money on a similar event that, ultimately, doesn’t serve any of Blizzard’s purposes. Let’s face it: the WoW maker is hardly the company that craves for media attention.
