I don't know about you, but Steve Jobs certainly won't like it: the iPhone Dev-Team finally managed to crack the iPhone's 3G digital lock and promise to unveil the hack very soon.

How soon? According to their post, the unlocking app – codenamed yellowsn0w – will be made available on December 31 and it will require an iPhone 3Gs that has 2.11.07 baseband or earlier.

Well, you all know how things will continue from that moment on. The app will spread around the web, iPhone will get unlocked, AT&T and Apple will get mad. After a while, Apple will release an iPhone update that, completely incidentally, will turn unlocked devices into a useless piece of plastic.

And then, the iPhone Dev-Team will come up with their version of the update...
