The current financial crisis has yet to hit Google. The search giant proves it has the resources to offer lavish bonuses to its top execs.
Google revealed in a recent SEC filing that it had spent $6.3 million in 2008 in bonuses for the five of the top execs working for the leading trio: Sergey Brin, Larry Page (co-founders) and Eric Schmidt (CEO)
The man walking home with the biggest bonus was senior vice president Jonathan Rosenberg: $1,638,000. Next in line come Robert A. Eustace (Divisional Senior VP) and Omid Kordestani, (Senior Vice President for Worldwide Sales and Field Operations) each granted with a fat check of $1,376,000.
However, the most impressive bonus was received by Patrick Pichette, Google's new CFO. Pichette got a bonus of $1,244,000 in spite of the fact that he took the position in August. In the mean time, George Reyes (the man replaced by Pichette) walked home with $675,000. So being fired from Google is actually a good deal, wouldn't you say?
The top trio (Sergey Brin, Larry Page and Eric Schmidt) got no bonuses, but that's hardly surprising for anyone familiar with Google's corporate policy.
