Sharp’s BD-HDW20 takes the grand prize with a capacity of 1 TB, which allow the recording of around 127 hours of digital high-definition programs.

The 1TB Blu-ray recorder will be released on the Japanese market this December and will retail for 300,000 yen (around $2600).

The second Blu-ray Disc recorder is the BD-HDW15 model, which will feature a 500GB hard drive. Sharp did not announce any release details regarding the model. Still, while the price remains unknown, the device is likely to be released at the same time as the more beefy model.

No release plans for the North American or European market have been announced.

It’s interesting to note that every Blu-ray backer aims to release bigger and better products, but completely overlooks the low-budget segment.
