The new netbook weighs 2.72 lbs.1 and only 0.92 in. thick. It’s standard software pack features Windows Vista Home Basic, plsu two support features.

The first one is the Dell Support Centerm which can be quickly accessed via an icon placed on desktop. The service provides automated fixes, software upgrades and tools to help keep the system up-to-date and running efficiently.

The second support center is the DellConnect Remote Assistancem where Dell’s persobnel help diagnose and solve PC problems via an Internet connection .

On the hardware side, the new Dell Inspiron Mini 12 features a 12.1 inch WXGA display, built-in Bluetooth and 802.11b/g wireless.

At present time, the Inspiron Mini 12 is available initially only in Japan. The model will be released worldwide in late November, with configurations starting under $600 (U.S.). Dell mentioned that Ubuntu and Windows XP operating systems will also become available before the end of the year.
