The Korean giant chose to remain rather mysterious regarding the features of the new phone. A move most expected, considering that the Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona is right around the corner and LG aims to fully unveil the phone during a big show at the event.

Still, LG stated that the Arena will be a “fully loaded multimedia phone”. The company also mentioned the addition of its innovative and dynamic 3D S-Class User Interface, which was specifically designed to be “a more fun and engaging gateway to an amazing multimedia environment”.

Basically, the new interface will be based on a cube-based layout, which provides four customizable home screens for direct access to all features, be it music, movies, pictures and so on.

“The direct, intuitive and dynamic S-Class UI will be unlike anything that has appeared on a mobile phone before. With rich 3D graphics, touch sensitivity and exciting multimedia capabilities, it will truly make ARENA a fully loaded multimedia phone,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

Last but not least. The LG Arena will also include enhanced internet connectivity with HSDPA 7.2 networks, Wi-Fi and A-GPS.
