The PC release of Grand Theft Auto IV proved to be much less than fans were expecting. The game needed a patch badly and it finally got one. Just so users would further need to fix things...
The recently-released fix is reported to have caused a plethora of new issues. Up till now, Rockstar chose to comment only on one. Rest assured, many more comments are to follow.
For the time being, the company has decided to offer a “fix it yourself” guide for the Look/Spin/Stuck Key issue. It's only a temporary fix, Rockstar warns, but it will restore Keyboard/Mouse and XInput (360) controller functionality.
A1) Unplug any DirectInput controllers (gamepads, joysticks etc..) A2) Reboot your computer A3) Launch GTA IV
However, should the issue still persist, users should follow the following instructions: and delete the conflicting DirectInput drivers:
B1) Exit game B2) Go to Start->Control Panel->System->Hardware Tab->Device Manager->Human Interface Devices B3) Locate drivers for devices B4) Delete drivers for devices B5) Launch GTA IV
Rockstar, how about a new patch? You know, one that actually works?
