According to an Intel insider, the company found no reason to replaceWindows Xp with Microsoft’s latest baby. The anonymous source told the NY Times the following:

“This isn’t a matter of dissing Microsoft, but Intel information technology staff just found no compelling case for adopting Vista.”

Previously, Intel’s Paul Otellini stated that the upgrade won’t make the company’s agenda unless Microsoft releases the first Service Pack for the OS. The Vista SP 1 arrived earlier this year, but it proved to be significantly less than what Intel needed to be convinced.

The good news for Microsoft is that Intel already admitted that several departments will be featuring Vista as OS. Then again, don’t act all surprised if those departments are only focused on developing drivers for the OS.
