The sales record now makes The Force Unleashed the fastest-selling Star Wars game in history. The game was released back in September 2008 and became available on almost all the platforms available: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii and mobile(including the iPhone and the iPod Touch).

Still, this is not the only record on The Force Unleashed’s book. The first such success came before its actual release, when the demo passed the 2.3 million downloads milestone on Xbox Live and PSN. It took less than a month to achieve it.

Last but not least, the game was recently awarded the second annual Video Game Writing Award from the Writers Guild of America. According to the jury, the award was meant to "encourage storytelling excellence in video games, improve the status of writers, and foster uniform standards within the gaming industry."
