Dubbed Sony Pub Fund, the new deal goes as follows: Sony will match the development budget with guaranteed royalties if the developer makes a PSN-only title.
Sounds good enough? Here’s more: Sony also promises to lend a hand with game design, as well as to over see the marketing plans. However, the developer will remain the owners of the IP. Also, the same developer will be in charge of publishing the game, setting the price and so on.
Anyone willing to take the deal will have to sign a nondisclosure agreement with Sony and watch out for the fine print. We’re not saying that Sony would be hiding a small legal monster in there, but one never knows.
The first game created undel this deal is Burn Zombie Burn.
