Published on Telecom  |  February 16, 2009, 14:32

Samsung eventually confirmed all expectations and introduced the new Omnia phone model at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Code-named i8910, the new device features a 8 megapixel autofocus camera, which enables users to record HD video. The phone comes with an internal memory of 8GB or 16GB and supports Micro SD memory cards of up to 32GB capacity.

The new phone has a touchscreen with a 360x640 pixels resolution, dual-stereo speakers and Bluetooth 2.0. A2DP support for stereo headsets is also included.

In addition, the Omnia HD sports quad-band GSM support (850/900/1800/1900MHz), tri-band UMTS support (900/1900/2100MHz), HSPA support and, of course, the ever-present WiFi.

Its operating system is Nokia's S60 5th Edition.

The new sizes of the new phone are 123mm x 58mm x 12.9mm. Retail price and release date have yet to be announced.
