The latest piece of software to hit the PlayStation 3 console is the firmware update (v2.52). The official announcement is short and only mentions a handful of fixes:

– The playback quality of some PS3 format software has been improved.
– A text entry issue that occurs when using the on-screen keyboard, USB keyboard or Bluetooth keyboard with some PS3 format software has been addressed.

And that’s it. The rest of the information (if there was any) remains unsaid. Apparently, Eric Lempel (Director, PlayStation Network Operations) was not in a very talking mood when he wrote that post on the PlayStation Blog.

In related PlayStation 3 news, it remains to be seen just how much will Sony keep up its current price policy. Microsoft already stated that they will follow the same path and freeze prices for quite a while, but rules can be bent or even broken if the marketing department says so,
