According to BusyBox, the story goes like this: Monsoon Multimedia develops devices for home multimedia users (ranging from mobile appliances to Mpeg compressors). The firm uses BusyBox-developed tools, which offer Unix utilities for embedded systems.
The BusyBox software is licensed under the GPLv2, which allows developers to distribute the application free of charge. However, the same GPLv2 clearly states that third-party users are required to publish the source code for any changes they make.
The filing states that, while Monsoon Multimedia admits using a modified version of the BusyBox software for its products, the firm has yet to publish the modified code.
