Cooperman is currently senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at Oracle Corporation.
"Dan will be an excellent addition to our team and will fit right into Apple’s fast paced culture," said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. "Dan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in securities compliance, intellectual property, litigation and corporate governance."
In the mean time, Jobs had nothing to say regarding the reasons of this switch. The press release mentions that Donald J. Rosenberg is leaving the company but no explanation is provided. Rosenberg took up the position at Apple less than one year ago, in November 2006.
Back then, he filled in for Nancy Heinen, who’s career ended up in the middle of an investigation conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Heinen is accused of having backdated stock grants to Apple executives.
