Pirate Bay Opens Blogging Site: BayWords
Published on Internet  |  April 17, 2008, 14:05

The Pirate Bay guys are pretty busy nowadays. While taking a break from the legal fights they have with the IFPI, they found the time to open a blooging site.

With so many alternatives already available nowadays, what is to make BayWords stand out from the crowd? one might wonder and with good reason. Basically, the new service promises to guard its users freedom of speech at any cost. Unless, of course, users break Swedish laws.

Pirate Bay's Peter Sunde's (brokep) writes:

Because of the need of freedom of speech and secure hosting facility of the words being said we could not agree to how people behave towards bloggers.

Many blogs are being shut down for uncomfortable thoughts and ideas. We will not do that. Our goal is to protect freedom of speech and your thoughts. As long as you don’t break any Swedish laws in your blog, we will defend it.”

At present time the features offer on BayWords is at its minim right now, but updates are said to be on their way. The first ones on the list are support for the blogger's own domain, the addition of a Captcha system and, as expected, ads.
