“Hello. Very novice user here. Had this new laptop 3 weeks and have been infected with the above. The file path is shown as C:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\flashUtil10a.exe
Every time I use IE a warning from AVG flashes. I’ve tried to remove/repair etc but it continues. If I remove it to vault it doesn’t seem to make any difference. Any suggestions please ?”
This is the second time AVG messes up good with its updates. One week ago, the same antivurus software managed to slap a Trojan sticker on a key Windows component. The file in question was user32.dll, recognized by AVG as the a banking Trojan, thanks to a faulty a signature update issued on Sunday.
Any bets on AVG next victim? Will it be a key file in Office? Or, maybe, the Internet browser of choice? What if AVG see itself as malware?
