Apparently, the company still keeps the HD DVD production on life-support (officially, at least) and will not make up its mind for the time being. A brief announcement sent out today reads the following:
"The media reported that Toshiba will discontinue its HD DVD business. Toshiba has not made any announcement concerning this. Although Toshiba is currently assessing its business strategies, no decision has been made at this moment."
New rumors have it that the company will come up with an announcement tomorrow, after a board meeting will take place.
Still, such speculations might prove false and the much-awaited decision could be delayed even further. On the other hand, the rumor caused Toshiba’s stock price in Japan to go up over five percent today; should Toshiba wait any longer?
