First one on the list is OpenOffice.org 2.4’s database, Base. The update enables MS-Access 2007 support and has improved capabilities for MySQL, Oracle JDBC and native HSQL databases.

Five export option have been added in the PDF department, along several improvements to Chart and Draw feature. And speaking of drawing and graphics, the Impress presentation package now features 3D transition effects.

Last but not least, Writer’s "find and replace" option has been improved. The application also includes new keyboard short cuts and the possibility of and the ability to set options for printing hidden text. Last but not least, the Ctrl-click behaviour for hyperlinks can be changed.

Keep in mind that OpenOffice 3.0 is scheduled to be released in September and it will be packed with support for Microsoft Office 2007 file formats and Open Document Format (ODF) 1.2, as well as the ability to import PDFs.
