The social networking site (previously known as MSN Spaces) won the distinction with a significant 3 hours, with 50 more than Xanga the rival placed on the upper spot with “only” 2 hours and 10 minutes. The majority of Live Spaces’ downtime occurred during US daytime on Friday October 19, so it must have made very “happy” a lot of the site’s 27 million users.

At the high end of the top we have Bebo on the fourth place with 30 minutes of downtime. Fighting for the second step of the ladder are Facebook and MySpace, each with only 10 minutes.

Atop everyone ranked Yahoo! 360, with a record impossible to beat: 0 minutes.

The study was conducted by Internet monitoring firm Pingdom from 19 October to 19 November and it included 12 of the largest social network sites in the world: MySpace, Facebook, LiveJournal, Orkut, Friendster, Windows Live Spaces, Xanga, Bebo, Last.fm, Reunion.com, Classmates.com and Yahoo! 360.

According to Pingdom, a site would be checked as being down if it didn’t respond within 30 seconds.
