UN Email Blackmailer Sent Behind Bars
Published on Security  |  September 4, 2008, 11:28

An email hacker looking for some fast blackmail money will have to cool off in jail, after which he'll be sent back to its native desert.

The 24-year-old Egyptian known to the press only as MN has been convicted of breaking into a personal email account belonging to his boss, a woman working in the UN offices in the UAE. The Egyptian threatened his boss to exposed sensitive private information (mostly rivate emails and pictures) unless his demands are met.

The victim was given two days to comply.

Fortunately, the scam was discovered , the scammer pinned down thanks to the IP-related information and the account was restored back to its original owner.

According to an ArabianBusiness.com report, the blackmailer got what he deserved. First he was sentenced to serve three months behind bars in Abu Dhabi. After completing his sentence, he also faces deportation back to Egypt. Try to blackmail some pyramids over there, will you?
