Motorola Acquires Music Provider Soundbuzz
Motorola keeps expanding on the Asian market and the acquiring of the pan-Asian music provider Soundbuzz is supposed to get the mobile giant one step closer to its goal.

“With the resources of Motorola, we are now able to immediately expand the digital music offerings available to our customers – and Motorola’s rapidly growing installed base of handsets throughout the region,” said Sudhanshu Sarronwala, CEO of Soundbuzz. “Clearly, this marks a major milestone, as it positions Soundbuzz and Motorola to better participate in the ongoing growth in Asia’s booming mobile music download market.”
The deal will enable Motorola to extend MotoMusic, its China music platform, to other 13 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, with India being top of the list. In addition, the acquisition also brings Motorola licenses with Sony BMG, EMI, Warner Music International, Universal Music Group, and over 45 independent record labels.
Last but not least, MotoMusic will be enriched with 750,000 songs available for download.
The company stated that Soundbuzz would maintain its Singapore headquarters along with other offices in Mumbai and Sydney.
