Jordan Mechner wants to add a new Prince of Persia trademark to its portfolio: Prince of Persia Prodigy. Will this be the new PoP game?
The patent filing (discovered by Trademork) seems to back this specific hypothesis:
"Game software and electronic game programs, namely software games recorded on CD-ROM and digital video discs for computers; software games recorded on CD-ROMs, digital video discs, and cartridges for console and individual, portable gaming systems; software games that are downloadable from a remote computer site and electronic game software for mobile phones, personal digital assistants, and handheld computers."
Ubisoft did mention that a new Prince of Persia game had already entered development and will hit the shelves in March next year. At this point everything seems to indicate that Prodigy is the next title in the series.
Jordan Mechner is the creator of the Persian warrior and the owner of the Prince of Persia, Prince of Persia The Sands of Time, Prince of Persia Warrior Within and Prince of Persia The Two Thrones trademarks.
