It was only a matter of time before Apple filed a lawsuit against Psystar and it seems that time is up.
The Cupertino-based company accused Psystar of copyright infringement and filed the suit on uly 3 in the US District Court for the district of Northern California, San Francisco.
The trouble for Psystar stems from the OpenMac versions it currently offers. The two computers are basically Mac clones, retailing at $399 or $999 (the higher-end version). Speaking of the $999 model, Psystar also offers to install not only the Mac OS X on the machine, but also Windows or Linux should the customer desire it.
The OpenMac name was changed some time ago to Open Computer so Apple couldn't complain about trademark infringement.
The Mac clone became available this April and it's quite curious that Apple hasn't already gone to court during these last three months. Also, it would be interesting to know just how many computers managed Psystar to sell up till now.
